How to customize items in toolbars?

6.2.20 - In LibreOffice 6 I would like to customize toolbars in some apps by adding buttons/pulldowns for frequently used functions, and also remove/suppress never/rarely used buttons/pulldowns. Please advise. Thanks!

ZedPoe,

“Open the context menu of the toolbar (right click) and choose Visible Buttons and then [de/]select the button you want”.

See LibreOffice Help. More help on customizes LibreOffice.

Thank you! That’s much faster/easier than the method I found above.

Just figured out how to do this.

To customize the MENU’s that appear above toolbars, go to:
Tools > Customize > Menus Tab, then:

  • To ADD a menu item: 1) scroll through available menu item in the LEFT pane to locate and highlight the desired menu; 2) click RIGHT facing Arrow to ADD a command.
  • To REMOVE a menu item: 1) scroll through available menu item in the RIGHT pane to locate and highlight the desired menu; 2) click LEFT facing Arrow to REMOVE the menu.

To customize TOOLBARS that appear appear below the Menus bar, go to:
Tools > Customize > Toolbars tab, then:

  • To ADD a toolbar function: 1) scroll through available functions in the LEFT pane to locate and highlight the desired function; 2) click the RIGHT facing Arrow to ADD the Function to the active function list in the the right pane.
  • To REMOVE a toolbar function; 1) scroll through active functions in the RIGHT pane to locate and highlight the desired function; 2) click the LEFT facing Arrow to REMOVE the selected function.
