I want to paste windows, menus, etc., into documents to illustrate usage, etc. How do I perform cut, copy, paste functions with applications such as LibreOffice, etc.
Assuming you are running some recent version of Microsoft Windows.
A quick way to take a screenshot to the clipboard is the PrintScr
key (full screen) or Alt
+PrintScr
(active window).
For more control of what to copy, use the Snipping tool
app which is a part of Windows. You can use time delayed snipping to bring out menus, popups etc. first.
Please understand that I want someone to explain how I can perform a copy of a LibreOffice Writer Window and/or Menu. I expect that once this copy is accomplished, that the bitmap image will be stored by the system in my Pictures folder. It seems reasonably obvious to me that, once captured, I can paste this image into a Writer document where it can be used as an Illustration for a help document. It is very important to understand that I am not preparing this help document for a programmer or a technician but instead for end-users of special LibreOffice template documents that are “loaded” with basic macros and dialogs all directed toward the ultimate resolution of the template to become a particular type of document. This type of activity could become the basis for the preparation of legal documents such as contracts, last wills and testaments, etc.
