How to edit conditonal formatting

Hi,

I’m in LibreOffice Calc 6.3.6.2 on Windows 10 (x64).
I have cells that contain formulas. In the past I set conditional formatting. I don’t remember exactly what I set, but it was something like the cell shoud get a certain background color if the calculated value is larger one.

I click on one of cells with the second mouse button and select “Conditonal Formatting”. I’m asked, if I want to edit the existing formatting and choose Yes.

I’m presented with a dialog that allows to modify the formatting rules.
Interestingly I don’t recognize my rule in the existing conditions. Is there a know issue in the current version? How do I best copy “Conditional Formatting” from existing cells to newly added rows?

When I select “Format” => “Bedingte Formatierung” (German) from the main menu on top I’m presented with the correct conditions.

looks as if recall of ‘old’ cond-formatting - by right-click - only works correctly if you select the same range which the format was applied to formerly, selecting a subset or expanding the range downwards or to the right brings up a new proposal, expanding the range upwards or to the left disables the option ‘conditional formatting’ in the right-click-list.

imho a bug / not intended / ‘ui not good’, i propose filing a bug for that, ‘bugs.libreoffice.org’,

How do I best copy “Conditional Formatting” from existing cells to newly added rows?

use “Format” => “Conditional” => 'Manage" (english), choose the formatting entry to change, hit ‘edit’ and simply change the ‘cell range’ it’s applied to in the bottom row,

(that’s also quite helpful to clean up formattings, conditional format areas tend to become matted and patchy when you copy cells into them)

that’s better and let’s some hope that better behaviour is! possible for the right-click-menu too,

in general i consider it a very annoying and weak point of windows (and other OS) and most windows (and other OS) programs that same or similar functionalities can be reached / are activated in different ways and quite often look similar but have deviating functionality / presets regarding the path used to go there …
