How to edit text in text box inserted in a form

Windows 10 LO 7.2.4.1 I’ve inserted a text box in a base form to explain contents of a field but can’t find a way to edit the text in the text box. Clicking the box allows me to position the box but not to edit the contents.

And wich options do you have in the context menu? (Right click)

Right click gives me this:

Ctrl-click the text box in order to select it without its associated label.
Then right-click>“Control properties…”

There appears to be no difference between ctrl-click and right-click

Hello,

Take care when in Base. A Text Box is most often referred to as a control. What you have is not the control. Another LO item with the same name as something else.

To edit your text box, just double click within the text box where you want to edit.

It may be better if you simply used a Label control instead.

Although your text box can be set as not modifiable, it can be selected by the user and then displays handles. Confusing.
