what is the appropriate way to enter a date in bibliography and then have the date show in the biblio index?
A date is an attribute of an entry. You must then enter this date into a field of the entry.
The bibliography database can be managed with Tools
>Bibliography Database
. Find (or create) the entry and enter the date in the Year field. You can also enter it in one of the User-defined x if the date is not directly related to the entry itself (it could be the date of retrieval, of purchase, etc.).
When you create the bibliography, you have the opportunity to customise the line Structure with additional fields:
- select the Type corresponding to the database record
- preselect the field name from the drop-down menu
- put the cursor between two existing fields where you want the new one positioned
- press
Insert
