How to evenly distribute objects/shapes in Writer and Calc?

In MS Word and MS Excel one can select more than two shapes/objects and then distribute them with equal distance between the objects. Under “Align” you can either choose “Distribute horizontally” or “Distribute vertically”. (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjkkN9ysjps)

It seems that this is also possible in LibreOffice Draw: When you select more than two shapes, you right-click to get the context menu and then “Distribution…” is an option to choose from.

However, I do not find this option in Write and Calc.

The shape facilities in Writer and Calc are reduced versions of those in Draw. IMHO, you’re better off designing your illustrations in Draw and inserting them as a whole in the other applications. Thus you can control precisely the relative positions and benefit from Draw power.

I only can confirm a related choice Distribute Selection... for LibO V 7.1 (remembered wrongly)

Please note: A selection of shapes copied in Draw automatically gets grouped when pasted in Writer or Calc Clever. See below.
aligning and distributing shapes the described way is clearly useful in Draw because there is no choice in anchoring. In Writer(4) and in Calc(3) there are different ways of anchoring shapes, and aligning/distributing the shapes of a multiselection may produce strange effects if the shapes are anchored using different anchor-types or are anchored to different objects are automatically grouped.
