how to fix copy and past in writer

I copy info I need off web and try to past it in writer and all I get is squiggly lines instead of words how can I fix this

Paste as unformatted text and tell us what happens then. And next time you ask a question, try to add some relevant information. Don’t leave us guessing.

you should use Edit->Paste Unformatted Text (Ctrl+Alt+Shift+V)

I used your direction and it worked fine, but only for text. I couldn’t seem to copy and paste any pictures (images). Do you know how to get ALL the info copied (including images)?

Also, I don’t know what relevant information is necessary. If you need more info from me, please elaborate. Sorry for lack of info, I’m new at this!

you can copy/paste text with Paste Unformatted Text (Ctrl+Alt+Shift+V), then copy/paste any image from site one by one in to your document
