how to fix missing access rights using iCloud files?

LibreOffice worked fine until I put my files on iCloud drive. Now I cannot edit any of them, even the files I create new. This must have something to do with the remote location of my file. This must be a common problem, but I find no answer it. I am using Windows 10 Pro version 1.0.18363 The LibreOffice version is 6.2.8.2 (x64)

Have you already tried to evaluate, whether your problem is associated with the creation of lockfiles on iCloud?

Test - Disable Creation of Lock File

  • Tools -> Options -> LibreOffice -> Advanced -> Button: Open Expert Configuration
  • Write UseLocking into the input line
  • Click button Search
  • Double click on Misc\UseLocking to change it from true to false
  • click OK
  • Restart LibreOffice

Note Don’t forget to revert the setting, if that’s not the cause of your problem


Alternative

  • Open File Explorer
  • Change to iCloud directory
  • Create a new file named .~lock.test.txt#

If that fails with a permission error - you got the cause.
