My preview pane works with LibreOffice calc, but not LibreOffice writer. It says “This file can’t be previewed because of an error in Microsoft Word previewer.” Can someone please tell me how to fix this on a PC running Windows 10?
How is your text document saved? .odt or .doc(x)? Error suggests it is .doc(x) and already contains some formatting error. How was the document initially created, in Word or Writer?
Unless you have communication constraints, always work in native format.
The expected notice for LibreOffice native format files in the preview pane is This file can’t be previewed
Thumbnails work for .odt and .ods, so in Explorer click View > Large icons to get a preview.
Always save in Open Document Format. If you need to share a file with someone who can’t open the files (MS Office claims to be able to) then do a Save As of your final document just for them.
