How to have different currencies coexisting?

How can I have multiple currencies in a single sheet, where some use comma/period as separators and others use period/comma as separators?

For example, I want to have them look like this:

€1.234,56

$1,111.11

I’m currently unable to achieve this as the locale setting and Decimal separator setting appears to be global to libreoffice and not even to a single sheet! It seems to me like a bug that when I select a different currency in Format that the separators of that currency are not respected.

That’s a property of cell format; and possibly best served as cell style.
