how to insert the same number in non-contiguous cells in calc

my document has the xslx extension in libreoffice, but control-> enter, the process for excel does not work. How does one accomplish this in libreoffice?

I would like to put the same number in 12 non-contiguous cells in a calc spreadsheet on a mac. I now realize that I can copy and paste, paste, paste… but at the time I asked the question I wondered if there was a process similar to excel’s, where one highlights the non contiguous cells, then adds the number to all the highlighted cells by clicking control/enter.
