how do I make a booklet with Libre Office? Which program and settings. Looking to make a 25-50 page dept. handbook for new employees. Would like it to be a 8X10 sheet of paper folded in half and printed on both sides of the paper.
File / print … / Page layout / Brochure
it works perfectly if the printer has the front / back function, otherwise it will have to be manual.
If the paper is larger. print horizontally and vertically centralized,
after folding, make the cut.

I had a problem printing a 60 page booklet, because the reverse side was printed upside-down. The function is not useful for me. (using LibreOffice 7.5.7.1 (AARCH64) on a mac with M1 chip)
It depends on your printer driver. What printer and model number do you have?
You might need to flip on short edge.
If your printer offers brochure printing then you might have to let the printer driver create the brochure; I have to do this with my Brother printer but not with the HP

Enter your content in a regular portrait layout document. Then when you go to print it select
FILE-PRINT and at the bottom of the Print dialog you will see a check box for “Brochure”. Click that and print.
