I’m quite new to Open Office Base. I’m building a database (single table) to keep track of my books. I recently built a report ordered according to topic in three levels (i e three group bands). After experimenting for a while I thought I had got a really nice report just the way I wanted it. Then, to my dismay, I discovered that the posts in the detail band were in complete disorder. I would like to order them after one of the fields in the detail band but I can’t find an easy way to do that. I’ve built the report in the report builder, not using the wizard. How do I go about sorting the detail band in alphabetic order according to, say, the second field?
Add another group to order the content of the details section. You could set Visible → No for this group. Sorting in a report will only work with groups.
