How to paste date as text in Calc without Calc automatically changing the cell format

How can I paste from clipboard the string “2023-09-27” as text, i.e. the destination cell format is not automatically converted to Date but stays Text. Any other solution than prefixing with apostrophe. “Paste as unformatted text” did not prevent the converting behaviour.

Prepare the cell with number format code @ (text).

I had tried that. The cell format was automatically converted From Text (@) to Date during the paste operation.

Where do you copy from? What is the clipboard content? I copy a number from a text editor and paste to a prepared cell which gives the literal string (=ISTEXT(A1) → TRUE)

Text from internet browser. Specifically a table output from Adminer database administration tool.

When I copy 2023-09-27 from your above posting and paste to Calc, I get a small dialog with import options where “detect special numbers” is off per (wrong) default. Confirming that dialog pastes a text value.
What is wrong with the correct date value? You paste a number into an arithmetic calculator. Why should that information be converted to text?

I did a test now - I copied the date string to Notepad, and then copied the string from Notepad to Calc. I worked as expected and the cell did keep the prepared format Text.
Then I again selected the date string in browser and copied it directly into a prepared Text cell and the format was changed to Date.

Okay, first format the cell as Text, and then paste using Ctrl+Alt+Shift+V

Yes, that works as expected. The cells keep the prepared format Text. Tried pasting the whole table and it’s correct.
Thanks a lot for help.
