am not able to do a copy-past into a text box. what’s the right way to do it?

You can select a Textbox in Writer by clicking once on it;
Then you can see the blue handles appear around the box, but you cannot paste your text yet.
First you have to Doubleclick inside the Textbox area in order to paste your text.
When you see the blinking text caret appear inside the textbox, then you can paste your text.
