How to revert to text; in writer; if I have drawn a couple of lines

sorry; I should be able to figure this out; but I cant!

I have drawn a couple of lines to be a graph; in writer; I wanted to label the y-axis with text

I can create a text box; (but not using F2): and I can edit the text then;

but if I go back later, to edit the text in the text box, the only line of icons visible are to do with draw;

please what can I click to revert to the text option for writing?

With the text box selected you could type any letter and it will be appended to the text in the textbox, you can then use the arrow keys to move the cursor anywhere in the box.
You could double-click the text in the text box to start editing.

Consider if it would be better to create the graph in Calc and paste it from there.

thank you so much; that works … “you could type any letter” …

“Consider if it would be better to create the graph in Calc and paste it from there.”

it was a freestyle graph, but I must learn such things; many thanks for your prompt help

No worries. If you do want to improve your knowledge of LibreOffice, the guides at English documentation | LibreOffice Documentation - LibreOffice User Guides are good. :slightly_smiling_face:

many thanks; will do; been very impressed at the promptness and kindness of replies; all best wishes
