How to set the default "Styles and Formatting" view

I often work on a document with the “Styles and Formatting” sidebar open, with the view set to “Applied Styles” (and the “Show previews” box checked). But if I close and reopen the document, the view has reset itself to “Hierarchical”.

How do I set the default view either to “Applied Styles” (or to the last-used view, which in my case will usually be “Applied Styles”)?

I can’t reproduce this issue. I always get the last view after restarting LibreOffice. May be, it’s related to Tools>Options>User Data. If you enter your name and initials at least, your last cursor position is stored in Writer documents. Possibly, it stores some more view options as well.
