There is a remarkable delay between slides and on-click animated text to appear on the screen.
All delays are set to 0 seconds.
If I save the same presentation as presentation.pptx and use powerpoint the transitions are smooth and quick, but then one has to fix other small things again so it’s not a good workaround.
My MacBook Pro has enough memory and is still quite fast

I have observed something similar when the next slide being loaded is quite large, >50meg. During the delay I see a small hourglass in the lower left of the screen. Have you observed this? By decreasing the file size I eliminated the long delay problem. Notakwanon
The file is way less than 30mb. Is there a way to reduce the file size of the photos in libre-presentation?
I’m having a similar problem here in 2025, but so far it’s the result of using the standard templates. When I create my own presentation from a blank, even if I add a substantial graphic in the background, it advances as fast as PowerPoint would. It’s only when using some of the templates that my presentations are slow. Some of those are right at 6 seconds to load the next slide.
