How can you change Libreoffice Calc hyperlinks from opening a writer window rather than opening the target Internet Web Page?
I am using Libreoffice in Linux - Fedora 18.
Here is what I would do:
if you want to open a Writer (or other) document:
- click into a cell
- click Menu: Insert > Hyperlink (or use the hyperlink icon in the toolbar) => Hyperlink window opens
- select on the left side “document”
- enter or browse for path to the document.
if you want to open an internet page::
- click into a cell
- click Menu: Insert > Hyperlink (or use the hyperlink icon in the toolbar) => Hyperlink window opens
- select on the left side “internet”
- enter or browse for target URL

Thanks for the response. In fact the second sugestion is how I created the hperlinks to the internet to begin with.
Clicking on the established in Calc hyperlink opens the target webpage in writer rather than in a browser window.
There must be some unique setting to set in Libreoffice that needs to be set to use the browser rather than default to opening the webpage in writer.
Yes, comment 1 is correct, it opens HTML doc in writer rather than following the hyperlink to the web browser.
Yes it happens in a new file as well.
I am unable to upload the file - a dialog window opens and states that I have to have Karma >3.
If I understand you right, your hyperlink in Calc opens a web page but not in the web browser but rather in Writer.
Does this happen also in a new Calc file with the hyperlink created new as well? If so could you possibly attach your file? (Be careful about the file content; this is a public site!)
