Hyperlink in email address

In my spreadsheet, some of the email addresses are hyperlinks. I never send email from the spreadsheet, so I don’t want email addresses formatted like this. I want plain email address strings.

How can I get rid of these hyperlinked email addresses?
Why is this happening?
How can I prevent it?

Hello,

To remove the hyperlink: Select the cell and CTRL+M
To edit the hyperlink: Mark the text and CTRL+K
To prevent creation at all: Deactivate Tools -> AutoCorrect Options ... -> Tab: Options -> Option: [ ] URL recognition
