I am trying to download your program so that I can open Word documents.
I’ve done everything you’ve told me to do but I don’t seem to be reaching my objective.
Please advise.

Perhaps you could describe the steps you have taken, and what happened when you did those things. We don’t actually know what you mean when you say “everything you’ve told me to do”. This being your first post here, we haven’t told you anything yet.
You made a download, great. Did you install the program as well? Which operating system do you use?
Here is an example of the installation under Windows.
From memory there is an option to associate MS-Office (or possibly just MS-Word) documents with Libre Office, which gets asked right at the end of installing. The option (again, from memory) is unselected by default. Unless you manually change that to selected, when you double-click on such documents, you will still open them in MS-Office.
If this is the case, running the install program again, will allow you to change various options of the install you did previously. Just remember to select the option to associate MS-Office docs this time round.
