I an trying to insert a subform, and I want to associate it with a table control. I can’t find table control on the tool bar.

On the Form Controls toolbar there is an icon for More Controls. Selecting that you will find the Table Control.
Thank you very much for your answer to this question. Folks like you are a treasure in our community. I have been programming for decades, but new to LibreOffice. I wish I could attach a screenshot, so I can show you that this control is not in my tool bar (specifically MORE CONTROLS) - I have reviewed every tooltip two dozen times. However, I was able to find it in the FORM drop-down menu.
It appears part of the problem was your lack of information presented in the question. You should always include your OS, specific LO version being used and if dealing with Base, which database you are using.
With that said, looking at your question with LO v6.3.0.4 there is a problem. It appears the Table control was left off of the toolbar.
