I am trying to send an email with a picture but it won’t email with the picture in it. i was wondering if there is a way to like embed it into the document? and i also have to send it as a word document.
Hi Anonymous,
When you import a picture into a LibreOffice document, the image is usually embedded into the document and will not be stripped out when the document is transfered from one computer to another computer – via email, a flash drive, etc.
I just made a test document and imported an image (Insert → Picture → From File). I then saved the document, deleted the original image from my computer, and re-opened the test document. The embedded image was still present.
I can confirm that embedded images persist when the document is saved as a “Word document” – i.e. in the Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP/2003 (.doc) format.
If you’ve already tried to embed an image like this and it has failed for you, could you please tell us which version of LibreOffice you’re using and on what operating system? (Windows? Mac? Linux?)
If you have the image linked, to break the link Menu/Edit/Link - Break link, the image remains embeded.
