After a Kubuntu 19.04 system crash I’m having trouble restarting LibreOffice. It tries to recover a lost file, and the attempt failed . when if ‘finish’ or ‘discard’ the recovery process the whole program closes. It was a Calc file I’ve lost, but the same issue happens in Writer.
Any thoughts other than deleting and reinstalling the application.

Before reinstalling try libreoffice --save-mode on the command line. If that starts LibreOffice then most probably your user profile is corrupt and reinstalling wouldn’t fix anything (which btw. on Linux is a solution in very rare cases) . Please read this about user profile and this about Safe Mode.
–Save-mode did not work, but the output showed me a --no-restore switch and that got me fixed… Thanks for the hint.
