I get no option to paste in Libre. eg right click>no paste option
Please take a minute and read this Getting Started - this is in fact not a question. You don’t provide any technical information (operating system,LibreOffice version), no information about what you are doing and what you want to achieve.
And also you tagged common suggesting you meet the issue with ALL apps. Retag to choose one of writer, calc, impress or draw and erase common. Press Enter twice to exit retag mode.
If you want to copy the contents of a file and paste into LibreOffice, you need to open the file first and copy the opened file. Note: the exception is .odt where you can copy the file in Explorer and paste into LibreOffice where contents will be inserted in a Section.
If you have copied content from another application and it won’t paste into Writer then that is another story. There is a bug (fix under development) that seems to affect only some people. Try Ctrl+V as well as paste in the context menu. Go back to the originating application and copy again, it might work the second time.
If it happens all the time you might want to see if using Windows Clipboard History will bypass the bug. Start menu > Settings > System > Clipboard and turn Clipboard History to On. You can view history using Win+V, double click the item you want to paste and it will be pasted into the app you had open before Win+V.
