I do not want to scroll to select cells in LibreOffice. What shall I enter into a cell to select cells from
A:42 to A:102
say ?

Generally, a range address is given by the adresses of two opposite corners, separated by a colon.

If you are writing or editing a formula in a cell (or in the Imput line), just type A42:A102; otherwise pulse in the Name Box (also named Sheet Area Imput Field), type A42:A102, and press Enter.

EDIT: Name Box is also named Sheet Area Imput Field. To access the Name Box you could press Ctrl+Shift+T.
