I get an error notice when trying to save or save as.

I upgraded to LibreOffice Vanilla on my Mac BigSur OS 11.4. Now I get a very confusing window when trying to save or save as and an error message when I try to close it. I’m attaching two screen shots to show what I get

C:\fakepath\Screen Shot 2021-07-01 at 6.31.17 PM.png

And I can’t see out on this new confusing screen how to save as a .docx format

(inline display enabled by ajlittoz – please, please, whan asking, use the right tools; images can be added with the “slide” tool instead of the “paperclip” dowload tool!)

BTW, I added Libre Office Vanilla to Full Disk Access. No change.

It might be worth removing all LibreOffice references from full disk access, closing dialog box, then giving the new LibreOffice full disk access. There might be confusion if the old LibreOffice is still included.

To save as .docx, leave automatic extension checked and just select Word 2007-365 (docx) from the File type drop down field visible in your screenshot.

Part answer -
To save as a “docx” file, uncheck “Automatic file name extension” and then save as a “docx” file.

You might be saving an odt document with an extension of .docx, rather than an actual Word document in the format of docx.
