I had three calc spreadsheets saved on my desktop in version 10.6.8 of OS X. This was the first time I had used LibreOffice on my iMAC. All three spreadsheets got caught in ZIP-CPGZ loops. I was able to breakout of this loop, but I don’t want this to happen again. Does anyone know what causes this?
A quick google search gave me this: http://osxdaily.com/2013/02/13/open-zip-cpgz-file/
Are you sure this is a LibreOffice issue?
Thanks, I saw that as well. It happened again today. All three spreadsheets were in the loop when the desktop loaded. I started the LibreOffice app and they were OK, but one had to be recovered.
All I can think of is to check what format the files are saved in. I’ve never seen it on a mac, but i’ve seen Windows download/copy odf files and change them to .zip archives (they are in fact zipped XML archives as I understand it).
Then check on what default application is set to open these filetypes, making sure it’s not Archive Utility.
Sorry, that’s all I’ve got. I’ve never seen this on my mac. Good luck.
