Image caption numbering is displayed in the wrong manner.

As you see in the attached image (taken from a master document) although i have chosen “numbering captions by chapter” → level 1
the caption label numbering is displayed wrong( i want Image 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 3.23 for every chapter not any further sub-chapter numbers in the image labeling). The master document and all sub documents are from the same template and all files included the template’s options are configured the same way.
At every sub document the labeling is ok, as expected.
Is that issue probably coming from tweaking something in Headings options?

I am trying to figure-out the preview “1.1.1” and how that is appearing with the settings I see.

Any way you can make the documents available?

I would like to look more closely.
