Image placement and display discripancies when MS Word document with image viewed/exported to PDF using LibreOffice

MS Word document with images when opened in LibreOffice, images position and display shows discrepancies. Looks like parts of image goes behind/below display area of image. Same is observed when exporting this same data to PDF from LibreOffice. Please suggest any workaround for this or when can we expect fix for such issue.
Please find attached both MS Word document with PDF converted out of LibreOffice.
My usecase is to convert office documents into PDF using LibreOffice in headless mode/SDK.

testing_image.docx (79.2 KB)
testing_image.pdf (78.5 KB)

… or when can we expect fix for such issue.

A. You find a solution with only one office package for all.
B. You participate in the development of LibreOffice and solve the problem.
C. You hire a developer for the solution.
D. You make a bug description on Bugzilla and wait if someone takes care of it.

It could be a compatibility problem

Basically:

Recommendation for clean working with LibreOffice when different Office programs are used.
Always create and save your files in LibreOffice and save them in ODF format (ODT, ODS, etc.).
Always keep these files as their source.
If you need other formats for distribution to partners, you can open an ODF file and save and distribute another format with ″ Save as… ″.
This way, you always have working files available in your system environment.

Which?

Are you sure you have the fonts used in the document installed on your system? In the absence of some fonts, other fonts available of the system are used as their substitutions, and that indeed may change the layout, since different fonts in general have different metrics.

Or maybe the screws pictured on the EMF that are shifted compared to what is shown by MS Word is the issue?

As soon as one of the following happens:

  1. You fix that problem yourself;
  2. You find someone to do that;
  3. You file an appropriate bug report, and wait indefinitely until some volunteer happens to get interested in fixing that.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for detailed reply. Yes, issue is with screws pictures are getting shifted compared to MS Word.
Secondly, our usecase is converting user documents from MS Word to PDF, hence we cannot creation of documents in ODF format.
Lastly, we cannot wait for someone to fix issue/fix our-self. We need reliable way of bug tracking and fixing. Anyway, Thanks a lot for your quick reply and time. This helped us to decide on this approach.

Thanks,
