Looking to move to Writer but have many saved texts in MS Word Building Blocks stored in templates. How can these be moved across and what similar functionality is available in Writer?
Judging by what Create and use document building blocks in Word 2007 has to say about Building Blocks, much or all of that functionality is covered by AutoText, that allows you to store formatted text and graphics, for instance the entire text and graphics of a business card. The only difference is the interface, that is how you add your building blocks to either a collection of autotext fragments or a building blocks gallery, and how you insert them.
I don’t know anything about how or if LibreOffice imports Building Blocks galleries from Word. You may have to convert them to autotext yourself.
