In impress is there a way to change list styles so that changing the font size of level 1 will change proportionaly the font sizes of all subordinate list styles ?
I dont find any âparagraph styleâ ⌠strangeâŚ
I investigated a little more . In âGetting Started with Lo 4.2â manual in
Ch 3 , section âWhat are styles?â a table shows that impress hasnot list of paragraph styles!.
Also in impress 4.2 manual (Working with styles in Impress) :
If you are familiar with styles in Writer, you will find both
similarities and differences in Impress. The presentation styles are
comparable to paragraph styles in Writer and are used in a similar
fashion. You cannot create new presentation styles but you can fully
configure the existing ones. Note that, as with the Heading styles in
Writer, the Outline styles are hierarchically linked, so that a
change in the Outline 1 will cascade through all the other Outline levels.
So trying in a autolayout text box with some test-text in a list with 7 hierarchical bullets i see that:
In Presentation Style â Outline 1 changing color will change all color down to the all subordinate level
same with font , but not with size.
So for the time being i think that i asked for is not supported in impress .
You CANNOT change âscaleâ up or down the font sizes of ALL Outline list styles in one step.
In addition to my remarks editing my (withdrawn) answer a very personal view: As far as I know none of the widespread office applications supports relative font sizing. They all were partly bound to (bad) decisions by MS because they had to grant a certain level of compatibility with the market-leaderâs toys. Where they had leeway they did better. As I neither know Powerpoint nor Impress these are expressly excluded here.
When you change the font in Paragraph Styles > Default all list and numbered list are changing along, as long as the list and numbered list styles were not modified before.
@Lupp - Thanks for your comment about Impress being added later. I was already wondering why I wrote this answer concerning Writer. Like you I withdraw but donât delete it.
See amendment below! (âEditing âŚâ)
As far as I can see any âList Styleâ is defined based on the paragraph style âListâ. See the âInherit fromâ property under the âOrganiserâ tab!
If you didnât change some list styles individually those actually inheriting from âListâ will take over a change of the font properties for âListâ.
If you have changed the font formats in lists by direct formatting (âmanuallyâ) you will have to clear this (> âFormatâ > âClear Direct Formattingâ (Ctrl+M)) first.

My answer (as the one by @ROSt53 ) targeted the question âCan i change of all list stylesâs font and size collectively ?â The word âImpress:â was added lateron, I think. I never use âImpressâ and cannot tell anything about it - except that I just tried and couldnât find anything like a âlist styleâ there. The help on âImpressâ also doesnât know about such a thing. My answer was valid, however, for âWriterâ. I hereby withdraw the original answer (without deleting it).
