Impress COLRv1 breaks PDF export

Problem
I use a COLRv1 Font Named Nabla https://nabla.typearture.com/
When ever I export to PDF the Text written in Nabla some times looses it’s colour and sometimes it doesn’t.

Test File

Additional Context
The Impress File does embed the Nabla Font within the PDF.

For some Reason, if I set the PDF export to PDF/A-1b it sometimes works. But that 10x the File Size. I currently have a 20MB PDF. Compressing it down makes everything look horrible.

Question
Is there a solution, that I’m missing?
All I want is be able to export as PDF and get a sharp PDF with a reasonable Filesize.
Is that even technically possible?
Do I have to switch to another Font?

what pdf viewer do you test with ?

I suggest that you use jpg compression for the photograph, not png. Right click the monkey image, select Compress. In the dialogue select jpg compression and I would suggest 150 dpi is sufficient for most purposes. OK. Copy the image, delete the other two images and paste as replacement. Save to get .odp file size down from 35426 KB down to 1404 KB

Chrome, Firefox, Brave or Document Viewer.

Sadly no difference. Problem is persistent with all of them.

For me, the Colrv1 font appears black in LibreOffice on Windows. In Linux Mint it appears coloured but exports in black.

If I create a document in Inkscape on Windows the font appears in colour. If I save as pdf from Inkscape it also appears in colour.

There is on going work to support variable fonts
