Impress doesn't show content of animated gif while editing

Hey guys using libre 7.0.4-4+deb11u8 on debian bullseye. When I insert>image and browse to my gif and select it. A black box where the image should be is displayed in the editor.

If I run the slide show, the image (and it’s animated frames) displays fine. Whats even more odd, if I rotate the image, it displays fine in edit mode. But it’s rotated ~15 degrees. undo rotation, back to a black box.

This behavior is reproducible on 2 freshly installed workstations, but on my long running bullseye/libre install I can insert the same image to a slide show fine and it displays the first from without issues.

Is there a setting somewhere I need to enable to display animated gifs by default in edit mode? Am I missing a library possibly?

thanks!

Version: 24.2.1.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 420(Build:2)
CPU threads: 2; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3

Ubuntu package version: 4:24.2.1~rc2-0ubuntu0.22.04.1~lo1

On my Libreoffice the animated and not rotated gif shows okay (not so good as in a browser) in edit mode and in presentation mode. Think about updating your LibreOffice version from 7.0.x to 7.6.x or 24.2.x.
.
Problems in my sample file: The gif file was rotated 0°, 45°, 90°, 315°. In edit mode the gif files behave as expected, in presentation mode they behave like not rotated. Bug or graphic problem?

Hey guys, installed 7.4 from bullseye-backports and that sorted out my issue. Thanks.
