I’m facing such a strange issue with my fresh installation of Ubuntu 19.04. Everything went fine apart from a strange problem that i saw in both 18.04 and 19.04 versions of the OS.
I’m trying to work on a presentation, using Impress, but everytime I configure a transition which requires a fade effect (or a complex effect in general) it won’t happen… Instead I’ve a black screen for a while then the next slide/component appear, or even worse the picture I’m trying to fade starts dazzling. The “good & old” effects (like bars and checkers) works perfectly.
If I save my presentation and move it to another PC I’m able to see the right effect.
That’s why I suspect about an issue on graphics driver.
My laptop is an Acer Travelmate P, looking with lspci this is the integrated graphic card “VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Haswell-ULT Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0b)”.
I’ve read that Intel graphic drivers are already part of the standard distro, but I’m feeling like there’s something strange in there.
Any help? Thanks in advance,
Fede
