Impress prints footers about 3" up from the bottom page

Impress footers are printed about 3" up bottom of page. Slide view has the footers properly positioned, but as soon as I click print, the preview shows the footers up instead of at the page bottom.

I have searched the web for solutions, but nothing I find has been of any use.

Any help will be much appreciated, TIA Joe

If your slides are at, say 16:10 and your paper is A4, then there will more space at the bottom of the page. If your slides are at 4:3 then there will be space at the sides

Thanks ever so much - I did not know anything about these settings. Changing to 4:3 fixed the problem & I learned something new. Very grateful
