Libreoffice is a great office suite. But I have to raise these 2 questions to you, hope
you may improve it :
- Impress show slides nicely on the SCREEN of my computer, with very useful tool ‘mouse as a pen’;
but when the computer is connected to a projector, Impress changes to a very different and
unpleasant mode automatically : one slide is showing and a upcoming thumb one waiting there;
that’s okay, since this is one mode of ‘show slides’. But I don’t think this is the mode anyone
would like, because there is only one way to change the slide: clicking on the arrowheads on the
screen because mouse wheel is inactivated. Also, the projected slide is much smaller in size,
since the arrowheads occupy a part of the screen area. Mouse tools are inactivated also, so one
has no way to freehand-write anything, or uses it as a pointer.
I guess the situation can be changed by ‘property’,or ‘preference’, but failed to do so.
Or, Impress is not equiped with proper drivers and cannot recognize the projectors ?
- The 2nd unpleasant thing in Impress I found is that in some unpredicted cases Impress formulates
the slides being composed automatically. At the begining of each line, a capital letter is given
unconditionally so that the lines are alphabetically numbered. I cannot find any way to delete
these unwanted and un-necessary letters; I don’t think anyone would like such an out-of-control
way of composing. I have a screengrab picture, but don’t know how to attach here.
The Linux distro I use is Porteus, so Libreoffice is in module form.
I tried these modules:
06-libreoffice.xzm > from www.porteus.org repository, newer one;
libreoffice_4.0.4.xzm > contributor made.
