In a Calc Basic Macro how do I pass a named Formula as a parameter?
I can create a named formula but when trying to pass it to another macro to assign to a cells formula I either get plain text or nothing, or sometimes just ‘=’.
Pointers would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

Do you want to pass the result of a Named Formula, or you want to call the Named Formula from a Starbasic Macro?

Good morning Mr. Kovacs.
I can pass a formula string to a routine to set the formula of a range of cells but my thinking is, and I may be wrong, that if I pass a named formula, when it comes time to update that formula, I’ll only have to update the named formula content which will be echoed to all cells whose formula contains that named formula.
Therefore it is the named formula I wish to pass to another routine.
If I’m headed in the wrong direction feel free to point that out, I’m still learning named formulas/ranges and have a way to go. So far I’ve not found a discussion of the various ways to use such, only bits and pieces here and there, mostly related to named ranges.
If you call it a “Starbasic Macro” you’ve been doing this for a while. I’ve just recently started to try to use named formulas and not yet tried to use a named range though I’ve a few columns in my spreadsheet where they might be used if I understood how to use them.

Be Well,
Mike

I often combine the “Macro routines/functions” and the “Standard cell functions”, and the “Named cell ranges”. But I never used the “Named expressions” in my tasks.

The letter “s” in the names “scalc.exe”, “swriter.exe”, “sdraw.exe”, “simpress.exe”, etc… was inherited from the StarOffice:
