Have you enable a dark mode in your OS? If so, try a non-dark mode first.
Are you under GNOME, KDE Plasma, Mate, LxQt, xfce, … ?
These widgets libraries require a specific module. Check with your package manager (apt-get under Mint?) that libreoffice-gtk3, libreoffice-gtk4, libreoffice-kf5* and libreoffice-x11 are installed? These names are for Fedora. Adapt to Mint case.
If it then fixes the problem, display Help>About LO to see which library is active (VCL parameter) and report here for a more targeted advice.
