Insert > Field > More Fields seems to no longer exist in Calc

I just tried to insert a Date (fixed) field into my spreadsheet and found that the commands

Insert > Field > More Fields (or Other)

no longer exists. Under Insert > Field I only see the entries for Date, Sheet Name and Document Title. See the below screen shot.

InsertField

Am I doing something wrong or is there an option to turn more fields on?

The cell must be in edit mode (double-click or press F2) for it to work.

Thanks for the comment, but the cell was in edit mode. Sorry, in the screen shot it appears not to be. But I knew already about this stumble stone. When in edit mode, the three entries no longer appear grayed - but still no entry “Others” or “More fields”.

There has never been more than the three fields in Calc.

There once must have been. See Inserting a Fixed or Variable Date Field - LibreOffice Help

I am looking for a field called “Date (fixed)” which according to the LibreOffice Help must have existed.

The description refers to LibreOffice Writer

That could well be. So the number of fields in calc is indeed very limited.
Thanks for looking into it.

If you want just a fixed date, then click on a a cell and press Ctrl+; it will fill in today’s date.

Yes, but I want that to be filled in automatically the first time I open a document and then stay fixed. I guess that is what “Date (fixed)” does in Writer.

Not exactly (or maybe you worded it imprecisely): in Writer, this field is only set when you create the document - e.g., from a template having such a field; it will not get adjusted when you later open the document.

Hi Mike! Yes, that is the behavior I want. My expression “…the first time I open a document” was imprecise. That should read, “… when I create a document from the template”.
