Insert hyperlink in URL by pressing Enter key

I can’t insert hyperlinks in URLs. Whenever I typed in a URL and then pressed the Enter key, a hyperlink was automatically created. The URL was underlined and highlighted in blue.
There is also no longer the Insert Hyperlink option, normally present in the Writer dialog box or drop-down menu.

I ask for help from the entire LibreOffice Community to solve the problem.

Thank you very much!

Go to Tools>AutoCorrect>AutoCorrect Options… In the Options tab of the AutoCorrect dialog, make certain that URL Recognition is checked.

They’re marked. And still the hyperlink is not added to the URL.

In Tools > AutoCorrect sub-menu is While Typing ticked? If not, tick it.

They’re marked. But it didn’t work for my problem.

So there isn’t a menu entry Insert > Hyperlink?

I would be inclined to use the manual procedure for resetting the User Profile, LibreOffice user profile - The Document Foundation Wiki.

Check that it works OK after resetting, then close LibreOffice entirely and copy back as many of the sub-folders of user as you think are needed, maybe not config

You could check first using the " Quick test for corrupted profiles: use a temporary, new user profile" described below the link

I understand. I decided to reinstall LibreOffice. I hope it solves the problem. I was already used to typing the URL and then pressing Enter for the next paragraph, and it automatically linked to the URL.

Thank you for your attention, colleague. If it works out, I’ll let you know.

If it is corruption in the the user profile then re-installing won’t fix the issue.

Click Help > Restart in Safe Mode > Continue in Safe Mode if you want to test

I was unsuccessful.
I’ll contextualize my question better:
I use Windows 10 and I have two user accounts. In one LibreOffice does what I said, creates the link in the URL typed in Enter. Not on my other account…

I edited the same document. It worked perfectly on one but not on the other… I don’t understand.

Reset the LibreOffice user profile in the Windows user account that is not working:

  • Log into the Windows User account in which Hyperlink doesn’t work.
  • Close LO if open.
  • Ensure you can see Hidden files and folders
    • Open an Explorer window, click on the View tab, select Options and then click on the Change folder and search options link to open it
    • In the dialogue that opens select the View tab and then select the item Show hidden files, folders and drives. OK
  • In the address bar of Explorer paste %APPDATA%\libreoffice\4\user and press Enter.
  • Right click the folder user and select Rename. Rename it to user2023-03-03 or similar. Leave Explorer open.
  • Open LibreOffice and check that Hyperlinks work.

Restore saved autotext, templates, etc

  • Close LibreOffice
  • In the same Explorer window, in the newly created user folder, rename the file config to config2023-03-03 or similar.
  • Copy all the folders from user2023-03-03 into the user folder. Don’t copy loose files from the root of the user2023-03-03 folder. Allow overwriting.
  • Open LibreOffice and check Hyperlinks. If OK, all is good. If not, close LibreOffice, then delete the config folder and rename config2023-03-03 to config
