Inserting block of cells in Calc

G’Day,

I am new to both Linux and Libre Office and am trying out various tasks so I can start working on spreadsheets I have written in MS Excel. I want to get to the stage where I can wean myself off Excel by doing a lot of the basic tasks I have been doing in Excel for many years.

My first task is inserting copied cells into another section of the spreadsheet. When I select the insertion point there appears to be no options in Calc to insert copied cells (and move everything thing below it in the sheet). In Excel, I would select the insertion point, right click and select Insert copied cells. Is there a way of doing this in Calc (I hope I haven’t missed the bleedin’ obvious!)

TIA Phil

I’ve come across the answer elsewhere. At the insertion point:

Right click | Paste Special | Paste Special then

Select Selection | Paste all [x] and Shift Cells | Down (x)

This is the behaviour I was trying to emulate from what I’ve been doing in Excel for years. After using it (Excel) for 20+ years, I have a lot of unlearning to do
