I’m using LO 6 on Linux, and so far I’ve not been able to insert more than one special character at a time. On the special character window, there’s a line for ‘recent characters’ and one for ‘favorites’ but no place for selecting several characters at one time. Since I’m including a number of Greek and Hebrew letters in my translation of a theology book, so far I’ve had to go to another computer and use LO 5 to input the Greek and/or Hebrew efficiently. How do I get LO 6 to act more like LO 5 in this matter.
Each double-click on any character inserts it into the document; double-clicking on several characters in succession gives you a string of such characters at the current cursor position.
The LibO help does not tell you to double click the character to insert it into the document, unlike the LibO 6.0 Writer Guide. How do we feed this back to update the help?
@petermau: please file a bug against Documentation component; also editing help files in LO is really easy using gerrit web interface - so if you’d like, you could contact me directly over IRC (#libreoffice-dev), and I’d guide you step-by-step.
@MikeKaganski. Thanks for your comment. Will file a bug and have a look at editing the help files. I think it would be helpful if the input special character screen reflected the double click.
Thanks for the tip about double-clicking. I’ll check out the extension and the 6.0 Writer Guide. Thanks again for the quick answers.
