Install fails 7.5.6

When I attempt to install version 7.5.6.2. it rails stating that it was interrupted.
Windows 10 Google Chrome

Was the download interrupted?

Download the file to Downloads and check the SHA against that given in the info link just under the download button on the download page. If the hash matches then the download is OK.

Have a look at this page for other issues, General Installation Issues (Windows) - The Document Foundation Wiki

If you still get an error please make a note of what it says

BTW could you please change the tag from base (database issues) to common.

Thanks for the suggesting.
Unfortunately, they didn’t help.

“The wizards was interrupted before LibreOffice 7.5.6.2 could be completely installed.”
(Not very informative IMHO.)

But you were advised to read the wiki, which - among other things - suggests to create a log file for examination. Given that you missed that, are you sure you read carefully enough - maybe you also missed other suggestions, like troubleshooter tool from Microsoft, or others?

It is really a shame that a great product like LibreOffice has no way to provide help for a simple installation problem. I say this after spending considerable time researching the issue.

Guess I’m stuck with 7.4.6.2 for the foreseeable future. {sigh}
(Not the worst situation for the moment.)

Please!
The FAQ mentioned has this exact text - which I pointed out:

Create an installation log

You can attempt a logged installation using command line like

msiexec /i "c:\downloads\LibreOffice_6.1.3_Win_x64.msi" /l*vx c:\libreoffice-install.log

Then put the resulting zipped log file to an online share, and ask a question at Ask LibreOffice, mentioning the URL of that log file (or attach the ZIP to a bug tracker issue). This may enable others to analyze the log and suggest you a solution to your problem.

This text is translated to several languages, for your convenience. How on earth do you expect anyone - a volunteer! - to be able to troubleshoot an issue specific to your system, in the functioning of a service created by Microsoft, without you doing even a slightest bit to provide necessary details?

I DO appreciate that you are a volunteer. My issue is that the LibreOffice installation doesn’t provide the necessary details. Ii it should do so by default.

Under “How on earth do you expect…” – How do you expect a user who is NOT knowledgeable in MicroShaft Windoze to de-code the instructions you offer?

For a number of years I wrote installation/upgrade procedures for major operation system. If my code failed without giving more useful information (by default!) it became a bug that I had to fix. The point being that the LibreOfice installation should provide better information.

Of course, this is Windoze and pretty much nobody gives a sh*t.
I mean, why should they? It usually works…

Please pardon the venting of this disgruntled user.

Sorry. Thanks for correcting me.

Maybe what should happen is that the installation should offer to create a log file with simple yes/now question (backed up by a “more information”: option. That would explain when/why you might want to create a log file.
