Insufficient User Rights MacOS Sequoia

Just upgraded my Mac to a MacBook air M4 with Sequoia. Installed the latest version of LibreOffice, but files open in read-only. I can edit them, but when I try to save, it says I have insufficient user rights. LibreOffice has full disc access. Help!

It sounds like a Mac user permissions question. Does this page help, Change permissions for files, folders or disks on Mac - Apple Support (NZ) ?

Thank you so much! I had tried so many things related to permissions, but it seems that I hadn’t seen that particular page. Something on that page, and I’m not sure what, seems to have fixed it. I just went down the page one by one. Thank you so much.

I have more information if that will help. I’m migrating from an Intel MacBook Pro to an M4 MacBook Air, and from LibreOffice version 7.2.0.4 to 25.8.1.1. If I use the old LO to save the file as an XLSX, then I can open it AND save it with the new LO, and I can save it as an ods file. However, that’s only if the file is on the desktop. If I try to move it to my documents fold with all the other files, it will again open in read-only and I cannot save it. I hate to think I’m going to have to just have a LO Documents folder on my desktop. Any REAL cure for this?
