Like Writer, Calc, or Base? I’m likely to need just one at a time.
Yes, you can open one app. You can open LibreOffice. It is one app.
Gabix makes an interesting point.
All the different programs in LO are integrated really well. You can use most or all of the Draw commands to edit a picture while working in Impress without having to open Draw separately, for example.
LO makes it easy to insert a Calc spreadsheet into a Writer doc or an Impress presentation into a Calc sheet. It’s been a few years since I’ve use MS Office, but MS programs always seemed to be very separate from each other.
Yes, and there are different ways to do so.
One way is to click the start button > Libreoffice and you should see something like the pic below. (I’m using Widows, but Linux should be similar.)
Click on any of the specific app icons (Writer, Impress, Draw, etc) to open just that application.
A second way is with the application launcher. If you click on the LibreOffice icon (the white one at the top that just says LibreOffice), then the application launcher will open that should look something like the pic below. If you have the a LibreOffice link on your desktop or pinned to the task bar, it’s probably the application launcher.
From either the start menu or the application launcher, you can select the individual program that you want. The app launcher also gives you recently used files that you can open, but will close once either a file or application is selected. Only the application that you select will be opened.
Hope this helps.
Oops, the first pic isn’t showing, but you can see it in the one that is. (Titled: LibreOffice Start Menu)
