Is there any modern interface for Libre Office on Linux, like Ribbon UI?

Hello, I used to be MS Office User, but now I changed my OS to Linux Mint.
I am looking for Office suite, but standard LO seems to me totally unusable - e.g. I was looking for upper/lowercase letters for 10 minutes(found the keyboard shortcut at least) and I still haven’t managed how to put the buttons on the bar.
All in all, it seems to me very user unfriendly. I am also using MSO in the school, and I can’t use it on my home PC, because of the Linux Mint.

I like the free software a lot, and I don’t want to steal, but I am looking for something, that is easy to learn and use.

I was looking for answers on google, but I found only unsatisfying answers like “You shouldn’t probably use LO and buy MSO”, which are not constructive at all. I also found answer why it is like that(MSO licences), but I can’t believe that someone haven’t started working about some workaround. I don’t need exactly Ribbon, I just want something easy to use.

Is there any interface, where frequently used functions are one or two clicks away and I dont’t have to look for everything in menus?(that seems to me very 20th century-like)
Interface, which is for normal people and not geeks?

I think sometimes the best modern is the tried and true. Like you, I am a Linux convert. It has been a difficult transition. But once I paid several hundred dollars for an update to Access, only to find that I disliked the ribbon so much, and Access had not fixed the old bugs, so I abandoned the update, and stuck with the older version of Access that I still use today. So go figure. Linux is no windows, nor will it ever be. Windows 10 was the killer for me. Linux is Linux. Take it or leave it.

Your first Impression of LibreOffice is primary due the fact of your own adaptation on MSoffice, not the thing you call “very 20th century-like”, myself and many other People have the same Impressions in contrary ( we want not to work with MSoffice because our Adoption to Libre. )

If you will switch to Libre you need some time for Adaption, the worse you can do in this situation, is working with both Officesuites

thus MY recommendation is the sidebar of LibO. For ME much better than any MS ribbons. Reasons are explained in my contribution to the above given link.

this is the next-gen UI developed by the LO team.
it is more “condensed” and organized than the actual one.

Most people in many companies are already used to MSOffice Ribbon. First they hated it, but now they prefer ribbon over old style MSOffice 2003 UI and they don’t want to use libreoffice because it looks old even if its free. (Crazy I know)

So the only option other than MSOffice is to use WPS Office… It cost much less that Microsoft’s.

With WPSOffice you can choose your skin (Ribbon or not). I hope Libreoffice would add this option in the future since it would be much easier for users to adapt.

For those who seem to prefer a different interface you could look at the new NOTBOOKBAR interface available to try in LIBREOFFICE 5.3. Its internal development name is Muffin. See Ribbon interface for more information. The team would welcome feedback.
