Is there any plan to implement QUERY function in CALC (As Google sheet)

The day I learned about & started using QUERY function in google Sheet I have become fan of its simplicity and scalability.

It almost nullified use of Pivot Table and also makes calculations faster.

I understand QUERY is already available in BASE but I wish to use it in CALC as native standard function.

This is a feature request at this stage but I want to know if there are any Extensions / work around to achieve it.

You can make functional requirements on Bugzilla.

Here you will find templates and extensions.

wish to use it in CALC as native standard function.

The problem might be that the OASIS standard (see OASIS Open Document Format for Office Applications (OpenDocument) Version 1.2 - Part 2: Recalculated Formula (OpenFormula) Format doesn’t define such function

There are loads of functions implemented as standard extension that are not defined in the standard.

Connect your spreadsheet document to a new database document and register the database.
Create queries in plain, simple SQL.
Drag queries from the data source window back into the same spreadsheet, into other spreadsheets or into text documents.

There are several extensions.

https://extensions.libreoffice.org/extensions/new-jaguar-calc-add-in

https://extensions.libreoffice.org/extensions/queryconnector

https://extensions.libreoffice.org/extensions/spreadsheet-population

They all query data from a true database and dump them into a spreadsheet, which is what Base can do pretty well already. What people really, really want so hard is a spreadsheet that works like a database, so you can query the spreadsheet itself.

Please CC yourself to “Bug 162202 - Add QUERY function in Calc like Google Sheets” if you would like to be advised of updates on any plan to implement QUERY function in Calc.

Thank you
