i usually write the file title manually in the first page as a normal text
but i find that there is field named “title” in the fields list
is it better to use it in the first page and change the file title from the files properties? and why that field is not linked be default with the “title” style?
A field is only a piece of data. It can be used in any context. Therefore there is no point to link it to a style, even less to a paragraph style, because it can provide only a small part of the paragraph.
Defining the title of your document in its File>Properties allows you to insert this title in a header, footer or anywhere in the document with the assurance it is always in sync.
On the contrary, if you type your title manually, you may forget you used it (manually) somewhere else and there is high probability they will diverge soon.
