I’m running LibreOffice 4.4.1.2 and keyboard shortcut Cntrl + S doesn’t work, it only types an s into my document. Can I “enable” that shortcut in some way? (Windows 7 Pro, english)

Menu/Tools/Customize - Keyboard.
Hi - If you have not changed the default keyboard shortcuts defined, what you describe sounds like a problem with the Ctrl key. To check you could try this shortcut in another program such as notepad.exe
